As Barcelona continue with their surprising transfer window, the latest updates from the Spanish media now claim the Camp Nou side could be going after a Tottenham Hotspur player.

According to well known Catalan journalist Gerard Romero (via Fichajes), the Blaugrana are planning to make an offer for Sergio Reguilon.

Since they can’t spend much more on transfers, until they magically find another few hundred million down the back of the sofa, Barça’s idea would be a swap deal. A player who could be discarded by them this summer is Memphis Depay, and he’d be on his way to Tottenham if this transfer idea were to happen.

The La Liga side are said to be worried about Jordi Alba’s physical condition and want a backup option for him. In fact, Reguilon had already been claimed as an alternative for them this week, when it was said Fabio Paratici was offering the player around.

For now, there’s no information on what Tottenham think of this scenario, as this is only a ‘possibility which is being planned’ by Barça. So there’d still be a long way to go until the local media finds out more about this story.
