Barcelona may be top of the table and still in the Champions League, but there’s been doubt around the manager since Liverpool knocked them out of the European competition last season.
The team are thought to be struggling to get over that night at Anfield and it’s been blamed repeatedly, pretty much any time the club get a disappointing result.
Having been winning the match 2-1, Barca lost 3-2 to Atletico Madrid on Thursday evening in the Spanish super cup tournament taking place in Saudi Arabia.
Now, Catalan radio station RAC1 reports Eric Abidal and Òscar Grau are set to hold a meeting in Doha with Xavi Hernandez. They want to speak to the Barcelona legend about becoming the club’s new coach.
There’s no indication of a timeframe, or what Xavi’s response may be.
