Ajax star duo Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong are on the radar of several top European clubs and this includes Barcelona as well.

The La Liga winners have been on the defender and the midfielder’s trail for a while and their scouts have already watched them in action on several occasions.

Spanish journalist Miguel Rico writes in Mundo Deportivo that the Blaugrana’s scout was in the attendance at the Johan Cruijff Arena to watch the two Dutch internationals against Benfica on Wednesday.

It’s claimed the Catalan club ‘do not miss’ the chance to watch the teenager and the 21-year-old whenever there is a big match, and the two played the full 90 minutes in their side’s 1-0 Champions League victory at home.

The report also mentions that the official stance of the club is that they’re not negotiating for De Ligt and De Jong, but the Camp Nou outfit have been on their trail for months now.

Any potential approach from Barca for the duo or either of them could see them wait until the end of the season, if Ajax qualify for the knockout stages of the European competition.
