Hector Bellerin is the big story for Catalan newspaper Sport at the moment, he’s been on their front page for the last two days, and the gist is that Barcelona really want to sign the player next summer.
It’s only September, so pretty early for the Catalan media to start a transfer campaign, but given what happened with Cesc Fabregas, and the almost campaign-like approach to getting him back from London, nothing can really be ruled out.
Manchester City have been brought into the equation, and Sport say that club made a £30m offer for the right back over the summer.
That approach was rejected by Arsenal, but Sport still believe it’s the figure which could be a starting price, giving the player’s contract would be a year older next summer, and two years away from running out.
If Pep Guardiola and Manchester City were interested last summer then they’d surely be interested again next, if it looked like an exit was possible.
Should Arsenal find themselves in a position where’d they’d accept a sale, and it must be said Bellerin seems very happy where he is, then they’d probably prefer the destination be Barcelona, only just.
