Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has been linked with the Arsenal and Chelsea job in England in recent times.

At the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has already announced his decision to step down from his position after the end of the season.

Antonio Conte is currently in charge at Chelsea, but the Italian’s future at Stamford Bridge beyond this season is uncertain. Several reports indicated that Enrique would consider the option of taking over either of these two London clubs.

The former AS Roma boss is without a club since he left the Camp Nou at the end of the 2016/17 season. Following Wenger’s decision to quit, Enrqiue was identified as one of the candidates to replace him at Arsenal.

An earlier report from England suggested the Gunners have decided against considering Enrique for the Arsenal job because of his ridiculous wage demands. It was claimed the treble winning coach with Barcelona wanted £20m-a-year to become Wenger’s successor.

Mundo Deportivo has now rubbished those rumours after claiming that Enrique never made those demands and no one from Arsenal has negotiated “anything” with him about becoming their new manager in the summer.

Unfortunately, Wenger cannot go out on a high as the English club’s manager. He saw Arsenal knocked out of the Europa League following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid.
