On November 12th, we carried a report from Sport, who discussed Ousmane Dembele’s lack of attitude after he turned up late for Barcelona’s clash against Real Betis at the Camp Nou.
The club’s director, Guillermo Amor, also sent a clear message to the forward regarding his future.
In today’s edition of the same publication, it’s claimed the Blaugrana are fed up with the France international and are leaking stories about his situation to the press.
Ernesto Valverde is fed up with the World Cup winner and so are other players at Camp Nou.
However, the Spanish champions are aware of the 21-year-old’s potential, which is why they are willing to help. The former Borussia Dortmund man must take it as a warning – a yellow card – before he is given a marching order – a red card.
He is a player, who has eating issues, turns up late for training and matches, does not follow the rules of the club and lacks discipline.
Another report from Sport mentions all these ingredients could spoil his career because talent without the right mentality is of no use, which is why Dembele’s future is in his own hands.
Mundo Deportivo also has a story about the Frenchman in today’s edition of the newspaper and they have a similar tone.
They further go on to compare Arturo Vidal’s situation when he posted emoticons on social media to Dembele’s current situation at the club. The Chilean’s situation was handled internally.
It’s claimed the attacker is a spoilt novice and the report suggests that he could be ‘weak and lonely’, while everyone tells him what to do, but there is nobody to help.
Either way, Dembele needs to sort himself out in order to make his mark at Barcelona. And quickly.
