Uruguayan starlet Axel Perez is attracting interest from top clubs across Europe, sources have told Sport Witness.
The 16-year-old is currently part of Montevideo based side Club Nacional de Football’s academy. The right-footed forward’s ability to dribble and also find the back of the net has seen him draw interest from European clubs.
From England, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are all tracking forward, while Barcelona are also looking at him.
Sports Witness understands Barcelona are planning to take him on trial.
Lopez will arrive at the Catalan capital on Sunday.
He’ll spend the next 10 days there and have a trial with the La Liga winners. The young attacker will be a part of Barcelona Juvenil A and Barcelona B’s pre-season squad.
The three Premier League clubs, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, have not asked for a trial to see the player in action so far.
Fifa rules don’t allow Lopez to join any of these clubs because of his age. This means the aforementioned clubs will have to wait until he has a European passport or turns 18.
