Celtic fansCeltic play Barcelona this week in the Champions League, and that inevitably means the club’s fans will be travelling in great number to Spain. The Spanish sport media are very interested in the travelling support and will cover it hugely, and we’ll try to bring everything back over and explain what they’re saying.

Right now it’s pretty positive, but it must be noted that there’s a bad feeling around visiting supporters in Spain at the moment. It follows on from the bad behaviour of some last season, including PSV fans who were filmed mocking beggars.

Spanish newspaper AS reports on Monday morning that the ‘invasion’ has already begun. It’s explained that Celtic received 4000 tickets for the match, which were very quickly snapped up, but in Spain they expect more than double that number to travel.

AS say the club’s official trip, staying with the team in a central 5 star hotel, cost a huge £2,362, but they point out the vast majority of fans are travelling under their own steam and will be in the city soon.
