Earlier on Monday, it was explained that Brighton & Hove Albion are set to sign Marc Cucurella from Getafe.
The former Barcelona wing-back had an €18m clause in his contract with the La Liga side, which Graham Potter have triggered, meaning the player now is on the verge of signing for the Seagulls.
However, Getafe aren’t the only ones set to benefit from this purchase, as Ronald Koeman’s side are going to get some money too.
That’s according to AS, who explain that thanks to a clause in the deal taking Cucurella away from the Nou Camp, Barcelona are set to receive a more than welcome windfall.
It’s only going to be €1.8m, since they were set to earn a chunk of a future transfer, but considering the debt the whole world now knows they have following Joan Laporta’s rather candid press conference, every little helps.
The sale of Cucurella from Getafe to Brighton is also set to be the La Liga club’s biggest in their recorded history.
