Barcelona’s scout at the match between Ajax and Bayern Munich tonight may need more than one set of eyes, with Mundo Deportivo saying five potential transfer targets will be watched by the La Liga club.
The Catalan newspaper says that whilst there’s a lot to see during the Champions League match in Munich this evening, those on show, at least who Barca are interested in, would be ‘very, very expensive’.
Mundo Deportivo names them by club, and on Bayern Munich’s side it’s Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba who are going to come under scrutiny. It’s stated they’re the type of players Barca are looking at, but ‘whose market price is close to 50 million’.
That’s super optimistic from Mundo Deportivo. It’s unlikely Bayern would sell Alaba, and certainly not Kimmich, for €50m in the current market.
Over to Ajax. Frenkie de Jong is under review, but it’s believed his price now stands at €75/80m, which is perhaps overdoing it… strange given the low Bayern valuations.
Matthijs de Ligt is thought to be ‘more affordable’ and Nicolas Tagliafico would be the cheapest.
Let’s see who impresses, and therefore who the Catalan media will further push as a target.
