Ousmane Dembele’s contract situation is now commented on continually by the Catalan media, with anger growing over the Frenchman not yet agreeing to a renewal.

The 24-year-old’s contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the current season, and that means he’ll be able to agree a pre-contract with another club from January, before moving as a free agent in the summer.

Sport report the situation has become so tense that Barcelona are losing patience with the player, and expect his agent to immediately respond to a renewal offer, in a positive way, otherwise Dembele will be sent to the stands.

Those in charge at Barcelona believe the delay is showing a ‘lack of respect’ from the footballer, especially give he’s spent more than half his time with the club unavailable. Various injury issues have hampered Dembele since his big money move from Borussia Dortmund, so for him to walk away for nothing would be a kick in the teeth.

According to Sport, Barcelona are aware the player’s agent has been speaking to other clubs, and this only heightens the annoyance at the Camp Nou.

Should he not renew quickly then it’s stated he’ll be ostracised from the squad. The Blaugrana would then try to sell their player in January, although it’s thought Dembele could block this himself, with a suspicion he’d be looking to move as a free agent.
