You might have seen a few transfer rumours going around that Barcelona were very close to signing Yusuf Demir from Rapid Vienna.

Well, Fussball Transfers in Germany have information on the matter, and explain that very much is the case.

While other clubs, such as Manchester City and Manchester United, ‘have already knocked on the door for Demir’, it appears Joan Laporta, newly implemented as the club’s president, ‘stepped up efforts’ to attract the player to the Nou Camp.

It’s now said ‘the other applicants are probably left behind’, although ‘not all have given up hope entirely’.

It’s not explicitly stated whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola are among those still trying, but what is clear is that ‘Barcelona are doing everything in their power to ensure the situation will soon be clear’.

The transfer fee for a deal is said to be between €6-8m, which is a bargain for the talent they will likely be getting, and ‘not much is missing’ for that to happen.

This means Manchester City and Manchester United will have to really step up their efforts if they want to get Demir, unless they believe it’s all already over.
