Ivan Rakitić could leave Barcelona in January and Inter Milan are one of the clubs interested in the midfielder.
Last week, Sport reported Nerazzurri officials were in Spain to negotiate with the La Liga winners for the Croatia international. Inter’s director of football Piero Ausilio had discussed a meeting for the former Sevilla man’s signing.
Since the meeting took place, there’s been a handful of the Serie A club’s players linked with a move to the Camp Nou by the Italian media, and this includes their star defender Milan Škriniar.
Journalist Miguel Rico, writing on the last page of today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo takes a look at these claims, which suggested Inter would sell the defender for €68m.
He further adds the Catalan club doesn’t value the Slovakia international, which is why they have ‘discarded’ signing the centre-back.
Škriniar has played every minute in the league and the Champions League for Inter this season and is one of the key players for Antonio Conte.
It doesn’t make sense for Inter to consider selling Škriniar for €68m in the current market, especially when he signed a new four-year deal in May.
That makes these claims a little hard to believe.
