Ousmane Dembele started nine matches in a row for Barcelona at the start of the season, but has seen his minutes being limited in October.
He was an unused substitute in his side’s Champions League victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan and on October 25th, Mundo Deportivo reported that Ernesto Valverde has ‘lost confidence’ in the Frenchman.
A day later, the same publication claimed senior players in the dressing room are ‘unhappy’ with the forward’s attitude and it was also suggested that there seems to be a ‘divorce’ between the player his manager.
Catalan radio station RAC1 has a story about the former Borussia Dortmund man and Mundo Deportivo has relayed the news in Tuesday’s edition of the newspaper as it’s claimed the 21-year-old is a topic of constant debate at the Camp Nou.
The leaders of Barcelona are studying Dembele’s situation and last Thursday gave orders to probe the market for a possibility of his transfer in the mid-season transfer window.
It could alert clubs in the Premier League, particularly Manchester United, who are ready to back Jose Mourinho with £100m plus in funds to sign a defender and a goal scoring forward in January, according to The Guardian.
Arsenal have been linked previously, but neither English side are mentioned in this report.
If Dembele continues to fail to get prominence at Barcelona, the rumours of his exit from the club are only going to increase from now until the start of 2019.
