Celtic face Barcelona in their opening Champions League group game on Tuesday night, and the build-up has already begun in Catalonia.

The Scottish club started their own build-up to the match in the best possible way, with a 5-1 demolition of rivals Rangers at the weekend.

That’s sent a warning to Barcelona, who lost 2-1 to Alaves at home, with a much changed team to the one Luis Enrique usually puts out.

Mundo Deportivo say that having played Celtic many times in recent years, Barcelona have a really good record, but even the victories haven’t been easy.

There’s no suggestion of Barcelona, or the Catalan media, now taking the win for granted, despite being full of confidence when the draw was made.

Mundo Deportivo say Celtic are the current Kings of Scotland, having beaten Rangers at the weekend, and being the club with the better standing in recent history, following Rangers’ financial troubles.

There’s excitement building in Spain and the Catalan press expect, and demand, a reaction from Barcelona after the Alaves defeat.
