Andre Onana’s contract with Ajax expires at the end of the current season, and it doesn’t look like an agreement on a renewal will be found.

The goalkeeper is currently out of action, still serving a ban over doping violations, and there’s a very good chance he won’t play for the Dutch club again.

Sport report both Barcelona and Inter Milan are ‘very attentive’ to the player’s future, and that both clubs could look to make a move in January, to try and get ahead of any competition.

Inter Milan are currently best placed for the bargain signing, and it’s been stated in Italy that an agreement is pretty much in place for Onana to arrive at the Serie A club as a free agent next summer.

Regardless of that, Barcelona are presented as watching the situation, maybe feeling they could push ahead if they move in the winter window.

Marc Overmars has this week said that Ajax won’t accept just any fee in January, and if they don’t get a reasonable offer they’ll allow the stopper to depart for free at the end of the season.

Onana, now 25-years-of-age, left Barcelona for Ajax in 2015.
