Wednesday’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport has a story about Barcelona’s home kit for the 2019/20 season.

Their kit manufacturer, Nike has come up with a new design and that has been approved by the leaders of the La Liga winners, while it’s claimed the next term’s jersey is ‘revolutionary’.

Joan Vehils, the former director of Sport, had already revealed the new design on his Twitter profile and the home kit for the campaign starting next year will create history because for the first time, the traditional lines will be replaced by squares on the front.

In the past, a few of the home kits had horizontal lines but even that will not be included in next year’s design and it will be replaced by alternate square boxes of the club’s two colours, which is similar to Croatia’s national team kit.

These square boxes are placed on the front, while the sleeve and remaining part of the kit will be blue in colour. The report mentions Nike requires at least six months to manufacture the jersey and for them, Barcelona’s kits are the biggest seller.
