Atletico Madrid and Antoine Griezmann have confirmed the player has decided to leave the club after this season.

The World Cup winner has not made his next destination official and on the front page of Mundo Deportivo, the question has been raised whether the forward will join Barcelona or make a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

He came close to joining the La Liga winners last summer and even had a verbal agreement with them.

However, the Atletico star decided to continue with the Spanish capital club and signed a new deal which saw his wages rise to €23m per season and his release clause increased to €200m.

Despite last summer’s disappointment, Ernesto Valverde’s side ‘want’ the France international, but PSG have entered the scene.

After his side’s elimination at the hands of Juventus in the Champions League, the 28-year-old offered himself to the Catalan club and the latter opted for him after Liverpool eliminated them from the same competition.

Ernesto Valverde’s side were working with discretion to sign the player, which is why Los Rojiblancos decision to announce the exit came as a surprise to them.

His release clause will come down from €200 to €120m from July 1st and Mundo explains the attacker’s price tag makes him an attractive option. This, coupled with Griezmann’s decision to leave Diego Simeone’s side has seen Les Parisiens enter the chase.

The Paris club are ready to offer a lot of money to the Frenchman, and it’s stated he’s idolised in his home country.

Last summer, Barcelona were ready to offer him €16m per season and that seems to be what they’re willing to offer him now.

PSG, on the other hand, will throw the ‘house out of the window’ for Griezmann.

Mundo ends with the story by stating that Griezmann ‘must decide’. Money in his country or playing alongside Lionel Messi.
