Glasgow’s Walkabout bar has become something of an unofficial home for Barcelona fans ahead of the Celtic match tonight. It’s been mentioned in the Spanish media, meaning this can’t be the first time the bar has been home, and the idea is that Barca fans meet there, have a few pints, and then make the long walk to Celtic Park.

Such is the intrigue in Barcelona about this new found Celtic trip ritual, that there’s already articles about the fans having a good time.

Catalan newspaper Sport says that Walkabout has welcomed the Barca fans and even started playing the club’s anthem ‘which was echoed immediately by the Catalans who were already enjoying a few pints of beer.’

Fans have travelled to watch the Celtic match from all over and Sport found a Barca supporting group in the bar who had driven from Girona to Glasgow, altogether in a van, after setting off on Saturday.

Celtic fans are said to have received their Barca rivals ‘with open arms’, and there appears to be a huge love-in going on. Maybe they’ll be drowning their sorrows later after Brendan Rodgers and Mousa Dembele mastermind a famous victory… probably not.

Read the gushing praise the Spanish press have given to Celtic’s fans. – ‘There are football stadiums that are so strong that they are capable of winning games on their own.’
