Eintracht Frankfurt progressed to the quarter-final of the Europa League after Luka Jovic’s only goal in the two-legged tie at San Siro proved to be the difference.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan from Benfica and Frankfurt have the option of making his deal permanent. He has already scored 22 goals and registered six assists in all competitions.

Blaugrana general manager Pep Segura, technical secretary Eric Abidal and his assistant Ramon Planes were at the San Siro to watch the midweek European tie. On the front page of Sport, it’s claimed the three Camp Nou chiefs were there to watch the player.

The trip to Italy is a ‘very serious symptom’ of interest from the Catalan club in Jovic.

Over the past few months, Barcelona have been linked with the striker and the trip from the transfer three chiefs is a ‘clear sign’ they were there to watch the Eintracht Frankfurt star.

Ernesto Valverde’s side are looking to bring in a new no 9 in the summer, someone who can be the long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
