Everton midfielder Allan was one of the players who held a press conference at the Brazilian national team camp this afternoon.

Besides speaking about the preparations for the next international fixtures, the player also responded to a few questions about his first months with the Toffees.

Allan started by talking about his €25m move from Napoli, claiming it was time for him to leave the Serie A side.

“I was at Napoli for five years, mostly victorious, with good games, and great campaigns in the Champions League”, said Allan (via Globo Esporte).

“Unfortunately, some bad things happened, both for me and for the club. Things that happen anywhere, we get sad, of course. My time at Napoli had come to an end, it was time to change air, get to know a new culture, a new club. I hope to do great things at Everton, as I did at Napoli.”

On the adaptation to the city of Liverpool and to the new club, Allan claimed there’s a teammate who’s been helping him a lot.

“Richarlison has helped me a lot in the beginning of the season, on arrival at Everton, on the pitch too. I hope that we can continue making good games, at the club and at the Brazilian team.”

Allan also talked about the many Premier League players who are at the national team. Besides having his Everton teammate Richarlison, there are also Alisson and Roberto Firmino from Liverpool, Alex Telles from Manchester United, Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, Thiago Silva from Chelsea and Ederson and Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

“I think that just playing the Premier League, one of the most difficult championships in the world, helped a lot in my transfer. Everton are a great club, they have Richarlison, among other players. This can help me stay in the calls of the Brazilian team. The coronavirus pandemic gets in the way of meetings in England, isolation makes things more difficult, but hopefully it will improve the game for us to be together again.”

Brazil are currently playing World Cup qualifiers. They face Venezuela on Friday and then Uruguay on Tuesday.
