Bad news for Barcelona seems to be a common theme of recent months, and the club and manager Ronald Koeman have received a fresh blow on Tuesday.

The latest setback concerns Ronald Araujo.

Cope report the player has picked up a hamstring injury in his right leg, whilst away with Uruguay on international duty. They say he’s now been sent back to Barcelona by the national squad, and will be treated by the medical team at his club.

These claims are also covered in Uruguay, where El Observador report he’s out of the Brazil match having picked an issue whilst playing against Argentina.

According to the report, he ended that match with discomfort, and subsequent tests carried out have resulted in the hamstring injury being diagnosed.

For Koeman especially it’s a big blow, as he’s been counting on the 22-year-old so far this season. Araujo has been playing in central defence and has already picked up nine appearances for Barcelona in the current campaign.
