While Liverpool fans are obviously excited about the Reds’ surprising deal to sign Luis Diaz from FC Porto before the window closes, the reaction in Portugal has been completely the opposite.
With the Dragons on top of the league table, they were expected to fight strongly for the title, and now lose their main star in the middle of the season.
That’s why Porto fans have been complaining about the sale on social media, and according to reports, manager Sérgio Conceição isn’t at all happy with the transfer either.
Now as the local media speaks about the move, the disappointment continues.
This time, it’s former Dragons’ player Eurico Gomes who was interviewed by Radio Renascença, and mhe ade it clear that the negotiation was not satisfying, labelling it a ‘bad deal’.
“I don’t think it’s a good deal. FC Porto do not live with financial abundance, but Luis Diaz sold for 45 million euros is a bargain for those who buy him. And I don’t know if it will be enough to safeguard the club’s accounts,” said Gomes (via Record).
Luis Diaz is currently in South America featuring for Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers. The national team is soon flying to Argentina, and that’s where the deal is likely to be completed at the weekend.
