RB Leipzig have Celtic’s Nicolas Kühn on their transfer list for the summer and could look to bring the 25-year-old back to the club.

That’s according to BILD, who report that the Celtic winger is back on Leipzig’s list of options after previously playing in their youth sectors.

They explain that while the search for a new coach remains the dominant topic at Leipzig, intensive work is being done behind the scenes on potential additions.

Sporting director Marcel Schäfer wants a new winger and ‘intriguingly’, Kühn has come into his sights. This has also been reported in Scotland and been confirmed by BILD.

He left the club seven and a half years ago as a youngster, having joined the U17s in 2015 and also played for the U19s before joining Ajax in January 2018. At the time, former sporting director Ralf Rangnick saw him developing elsewhere.

Kühn has done that at Celtic, where he has 24 goals and 18 assists in 69 games since joining in January last year. He also played a key role in the 3-1 win over Leipzig this season, scoring twice. That was seen as an ‘impressive application’ by his former club.

The Celtic man is not the only winger on their list, but he is on it and could be set for a return to the club who discarded him years ago.
