It’s not the happiest of times at Tottenham Hotspur right now.
There’s a transfer cloud hanging over the club, and Danny Rose opening his heart to The Sun hasn’t done much to brighten things up.
Tottenham are yet to spend any money during the current window, and there’s only three weeks left. In an ideal scenario, Mauricio Pochettino would have surely had targets signed already, and his squad pretty much closed, whatever he may say.
One player expected to leave this summer was Kevin Wimmer, who simply hasn’t got close to making a significant breakthrough at Tottenham, and has attracted interest from clubs including Southampton. The 24 year old has seen his Spurs woes impact upon his national team status, and an exit looks sensible for all concerned.
Tottenham aren’t so keen, report Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.
It’s claimed Southampton have already made a €22m offer for Wimmer, but Tottenham knocked it back.
Southampton and Tottenham scouted similar players after Pochettino moved to White Hart Lane, so interest is conceivable.
Tottenham have also knocked back attempts from clubs outside of England, according to Kronen Zeitung. Despite that, a move is still expected in Austria.
But if €22m from Southampton isn’t enough for Tottenham, then what is?
