The Italian press is starting to expect an ‘auction’ for the Genoa wonderkid Pietro Pellegri.
The 16-year-old, who has been reportedly scouted by Arsenal this week, keeps impressing among the grown men, and is obviously attracting the interest from several sides from Italy and abroad.
Outlet Calcio Mercato has a story today saying Inter Milan were really close on landing the youngster in the summer window, but the negotiations collapsed.
The Nerazzurri were going to pay €15m for the striker now, with the possibility of spending other €15m in bonuses, but the deal was called off by the club’s own investors.
Now Calcio Mercato claims that this price should have a significant raise, especially because of the interest from the Premier League, which includes clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United.
Pellegri made his professional debut last year, and currently has three goals in five games for Genoa. If he keeps this rate, it’s obvious he won’t last much at the Italian side.
