Jürgen Klopp has long been an admirer of Kylian Mbappé and looked at signing the Paris Saint-Germain star for Liverpool in the past.

Two days ago, reports coming out of France and Spain stated the forward wants to leave the Ligue 1 winners in January. The Reds have been dragged into the mix.

PSG have ruled out his exit in January and their advisor, Luis Campos, has stated the 23-year-old has not asked to leave. This is relayed in today’s Mundo Deportivo and towards the end, they mention Liverpool.

The Merseyside club are ‘attentive’, likely of the developments that are taking place around the France international at PSG. Back in May, Klopp had ruled out an approach for him, but Mundo explain the situation is different now.

It’s said Liverpool have ‘enough resources’ to carry out the former Monaco man’s signing, if things continue to go wrong for him at Parc des Princes. Mbappé, for his part, has ‘never ruled out the option’ of playing at Anfield.

Over at Marca, they state two destinations appear on the horizon for the attacker, if he were to leave PSG. They are Real Madrid and Liverpool, a club that loved him. He has been an ‘old wish of Klopp’.

The newspaper points out the Reds could not undertake his signing in the past, at a time when PSG didn’t see his exit with bad eyes.

Marca state that if PSG were to open the door for Mbappé’s sale now, the fee would be over €200m.

In addition to this, the player’s €50m net per year salary should also be taken into account by Liverpool, if they wish to bring him to Anfield.
