A few days ago an Italian journalist suggested Napoli could make a move for Dejan Kulusevski. It was no more than that, just an idea being floated without anything of real substance behind it.
Since then it’s taken hold in the Italian media and become something of a thing.
Calciomercato now report Napoli can use Kulusevski’s ‘special relationship’ with Antonio Conte to push a transfer through this summer.
They claim Napoli transfer chief Giovanni Manna has ‘already planned an attempt with Spurs’ to try and sign the Sweden international.
Calciomercato say the plan is for Kulusevski to replace Jesper Lindstrom, who is set to join Everton on loan.
Napoli ‘will try’ with ‘the hope’ that the Conte relationship can help them.
That’s all very nice and everything but Tottenham likely couldn’t care less. Kulusevski hasn’t shown signs of pushing for an exit, he’s secured on a long contract, and Napoli would almost certainly balk at the potential asking price.
