Inter Milan are planning an attempt to sign Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain and perhaps ruins Aston Villa’s hopes to sign him permanently.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who provide the latest details on the matter and potential bad news for Aston Villa.

They explain that the Champions League finalists intend to complete a good part of their market plans by July, before the start of the retreat planned for after the Club World Cup.

The Italian giants are already moving to close various transfers and Asensio is one of the names they have their eye on to strengthen their forward line.

He’s currently shining at Aston Villa on loan from PSG and his form at Villa Park, under Unai Emery, has made him an attractive target for several sides in Europe. Inter are one of them, while Aston Villa would like a permanent move also.

Journalist Maurizio Russo reports that the Spaniard “is highly regarded by Inzaghi and was close to Inter in the last January transfer market” before moving to Aston Villa instead.

He’s seemingly remained on their list since then and they’re now plotting a potential move as they look to strengthen in the summer.

That’s bad news for Aston Villa, who could have a fight on their hands to keep him in the summer transfer window.
