Emiliano Marcondes will become a Brentford player in the January transfer window. In a deal agreed during the summer, Marcondes will move to the Championship club in the next window, and begin a three and a half year contract.
Things have been going well this season at FC Nordsjælland for the 22 year old, and Ekstra Bladet state that if the transfer had waited longer, and his performances since the summer been taken into account, then Marcondes could probably have got himself a bigger move.
As it is, he’s off to the Championship in good form, which should see the player arrive at Brentford with a spring in his step. For extra inspiration, the youngster has been told to look across London at Christian Eriksen and what he’s achieved at Tottenham Hotspur.
Eriksen has been enjoying good form under Mauricio Pochettino and for the Danish national team, and is a fully fledged national hero.
Stig Tofting, now a football pundit in Denmark, is quoted by Ekstra Bladet as saying: “He must be inspired by Christian Eriksen and think over what has led him to succeed at Tottenham.
“It’s about thinking quickly. Receive the ball and play it on. There are many rubbish tackles in the Championship, and you risk being swallowed up if you just dribble.”
Emiliano Marcondes has scored 14 goals and added 7 assists for FC Nordsjælland since the summer, and Brentford did well to get in there early.
