IFK Norrkoping attacker David Moberg Karlsson has told the Swedish media he’ll take his time deciding on his future following reports Sparta Prague are interested in him.

The 24 year old signed for Sunderland in 2013 but the Swede has suggested the move was a step too far for him.

Speaking to SportBladet, Moberg Karlsson was asked about the reported interest from the Czech Republic club: “It’s not like Real Madrid are standing there and knocking on the door, I can’t pick and choose. I took a big step when I went to Sunderland, now I’ll try to find a level that is more appropriate for me.”

Moberg Karlsson signed for Sunderland from IFK Goteborg for £1.9m, but failed to make an impact during his time at the Stadium of Light.

The Sweden international didn’t make any Premier League appearances for the English club, although he did feature in the League Cup. Subsequently Sunderland loaned him out to Scottish club Kilmarnock for the remainder of the 2013/14 season, where he made just a handful of appearances.

After just a season at Sunderland, Moberg Karlsson was sold to Danish club FC Nordsjaelland. The winger eventually returned to his home country with IFK Norrkoping and his performances for the Swedish club earned him international recognition.
