Kevin-Prince Boateng is back in Germany. After a good season with Las Palmas, Boateng wanted to return to the Bundesliga, so he could be closer to family, and Frankfurt offered him the chance to do so.
A character of the game, Boateng’s return has been covered widely in the German media, and Kicker have managed to get a rather impressive interview with the 30 year old.
Boateng speaks honestly about himself, his career, and the game, and is asked about Jurgen Klopp. Previously Boateng has heavily praised Klopp, and he’s explained how keen he is on the Liverpool manager again, if conceding he’s not the best tactician.
“Perhaps he is tactically not the best coach in the world, but he’s the best coach in the sense that he knows exactly what to do in every second of the game. And he knows exactly how to treat each player. This is his magic. That 30 players are happy in a 30-man squad, I have not yet seen that in any coach; including players who have not played a minute.”
Boateng played under the now Liverpool manager at Borussia Dortmund. Owned by Tottenham Hotspur at the time, Boateng was on loan in Germany before returning to English football with Portsmouth.
Klopp certainly left a mark on the player, and the 30 year old has praised him on repeated occasions since.
