Watford signed Pervis Estupiñán from Ecuadorian side LDU Quito in 2016 and he’s been out on loan since then.
Having spent the previous campaign with Mallorca, the Hornets allowed the 22-year-old to join Osasuna on a two-year loan deal last summer.
The left-back has featured regularly in the La Liga this season, managing a goal and four assists in 26 starts.
According to La Razón, the Watford owned player has ended up in the sights on Atlético Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s side are looking to bring in a new left-back to provide competition to Renan Lodi. Reports coming out of France talked about Angers’ Rayan Aït Nouri as one of the main targets.
The Madrid based newspaper now explains that if Atlético fail to sign Aït Nouri, they could look at Estupiñán and Torino’s Cristian Ansaldi as alternatives.
Regarding Estupiñán, it’s claimed that Atlético are ‘following’ him, whilst Osasuna have an option to make the player’s transfer permanent for €10m.
Should Osasuna decide against making Estupiñán’s deal permanent, Atlético could then try to sign the Watford owned fullback.
