Atlético Madrid Diego Simeone has made Watford defender Pervis Estupiñán his ‘number one goal’ for this summer.

That’s according to Fichajes, who report that the Atlético boss is looking to add a left-back to his squad in the summer transfer window.

He currently only has Renan Lodi available in the position and has been forced to use Saul and Mario Hermoso there at times.

He doesn’t want that to be the case next season and is now targeting Watford’s Estupiñán to solve the issue.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Osasuna, where he has been a regular, making 25 appearances in all competitions to date.

That deal ends this summer, though, and with his contract at Watford expiring in 2021, they need to decide to either sell him or sign him up to an improved deal.

Should it be the former, the ‘brides are not going to be missing’ according to Fichajes, who say he has been one of the ‘sensations’ in La Liga this season.

One of his suitors at Atlético but they will have to ‘convince’ Watford with a good offer as the Premier League side know they can get more than €10m should the left-back decide not to sign a new deal.
