On Tuesday, Sevilla sporting director Víctor Orta said his club haven’t received any offers for Loïc Badé amid claims Aston Villa director Monchi visited them.
Estadio Deportivo have investigated this and provide updates on Aston Villa’s chances of securing the defender’s services in the winter market.
It’s explained Orta wasn’t lying if he was referring to written offers. However, the report states the La Liga side’s official was well aware Aston Villa have ‘very serious’ interest in the 24-year-old.
At the weekend, Monchi was at Sevilla’s home stadium along with other Aston Villa officials including director Damian Vidagany. The former returned to Birmingham while some of their leaders stayed in Spain.
Estadio claim these Aston Villa officials and the Frenchman’s agent were in Orta’s office on Tuesday morning and the English club left this meeting without tabling a formal offer.
They insist the Villans will launch a ‘firm offensive’ to sign the centre-back, after the latest talks.
The outlet claims these are the ‘certainties, falsehoods and half-truths’ of Aston Villa’s ongoing pursuit of the Sevilla player.
Earlier today, we covered claims from Spain which stated Aston Villa have tabled an offer, and that may be further ahead than this. The meeting in Orta’s office is certainly an interesting aspect, though.
