Two days ago, Goal in Spain reported Aston Villa’s talks with Real Betis for Álex Moreno are going well.

According to AS, the Villans continue to press for the left-back and Unai Emery could be key to completing the potential deal in the winter market.

It’s claimed Aston Villa ‘try to speed up negotiations’ with the La Liga side, since their manager is keen to have the 29-year-old at his disposal for the second half of this season.

Betis don’t intend to sell the fullback, but if their request is matched by the English club, they would have to draw up a new plan to solve this ‘unforeseen event’. In reality, that means they’d rather keep the player but the money would be too good to turn down.

The figure would be in between €15m and €20m.

The report further adds the ex-Arsenal manager ‘can be decisive’ when it comes to bringing the positions closer to seal the deal for the player’s transfer.

Moreno remains key to Manuel Pellegrini’s plans at Betis. Amid interest from the Premier League side, he tries to remain oblivious to everything that is happening around him and focuses on maintaining the best level under the Chilean coach’s orders.
