Aston Villa are eyeing a move for RC Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra in the summer window, according to claims from France.
Diarra operated both in the middle of the pitch and as an attacking midfielder this season, managing four goals and five assists from 33 games.
The 21-year-old has caught Aston Villa’s attention as Unai Emery is looking to strengthen the attacking midfield position ahead of next season.
That’s according to Ouest-France, who state the midfielder is unlikely to continue with the Ligue 1 club. They are owned by BlueCo, who also own Chelsea.
The French club are aiming for him to be their biggest sale in the summer and would need around €30m to sanction his sale. They are waiting to find out whether Chelsea will make an approach for the Senegal international.
As well as Aston Villa, the midfielder has attracted Eintracht Frankfurt’s interest. The report adds they sent a €17.5m proposal but the player doesn’t see Germany as ideal for his development.
French journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state Aston Villa are to launch a ‘huge offensive’ for Diarra. That’s all he has to say about Unai Emery’s side.
Four days ago, Wiw Sport reported Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion are in the picture to sign the Senegalese midfielder.
