When we check the list of clubs who scouted a match in Portugal, it’s always interesting to see new Premier League sides joining a mission that has become usual for many of them.
It’s now time for Aston Villa to be named in a scouting trip, because according to O Jogo, the club had officials watching the Europa League clash between Porto and Feyenoord last night.
It was quite a good game to see, with the Dragons quickly going 2-0 up, the Dutch club equalising in a few minutes and then the home side finding a winner. A 3-2 score all made in the first half.
With Aston Villa not being linked to players from any of the clubs lately, all we can do is guess who may have impressed the scouts last night.
Porto striker Moussa Marega had his performance pretty much praised, with O Jogo saying he had ‘the devil in his body’. Dragons’ goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin also had a very good game, with a ‘historical’ save in the second half.
For the away side, it were Jens Toornstra, Sam Larsson and Steven Berghuis who offered Porto more danger and got big ratings from O Jogo.
Porto ended the group stage in first place and now advance to the knock-out stage, while Feyenoord were eliminated at the bottom of the group.
