Things haven’t gone well for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Ezequiel Schelotto this term and Graham Potter handed him his first start of the campaign during their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in December.
Apart from that, the fullback has one more start to his name, which came during the FA Cup loss to Sheffield Wednesday.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Aston Villa have conducted surveys for the one-time Italy international and it’s claimed Dean Smith’s side are ‘thinking’ about the right-back.
Schelotto’s contract with the Seagulls runs down after the end of this season, meaning Brighton have two weeks left to cash in from his sale.
It’s to be noted that TMW’s report doesn’t make it clear if Villa are interested in the Brighton defender in the winter market or if they’re looking to sign him on a free transfer in the summer.
Villa currently have the services of Frédéric Guilbert and Ahmed Elmohamady as the two recognised right-backs in their squad.
