Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard has been linked to a few Premier League clubs this summer, with Aston Villa being mentioned as one of the frontrunners for his signing.

On Monday morning, the Italian media claimed that the Serie A club currently expect a ‘maxi offer’ from the Premier League side, as the bid has already been prepared.

Sampdoria are said to be expecting to make €35m with this sale, and according to the latest reports from the local media, Aston Villa are waiting until they can afford his price.

SampNews24 now writes that Dean Smith’s side are waiting for Manchester City to make the purchase of Jack Grealish before they can make such a big signing.

The report claims that only after the sale, Aston Villa will try to make the ‘decisive lunge’ to land Damsgaard.

The 21-year-old had a great Euro 2020 campaign with Denmark, and that makes him such a wanted player this summer. SampNews24 says several Premier League clubs have been gathering information about his future, while Villa prepare their attempt.
