TRT Spor’s Besiktas journalist Firat Gunayer claims Aston Villa have made an official offer for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.
It’s reported the Premier League side have made a proposal of €6m to sign the Croatian international and the Besiktas board are considering their offer.
Vida is currently the highest earner in Besiktas squad, and the Turkish club may want to part ways with him in the new year in order to ease their financial situation. It’s been well documented in the Turkish media that the Black Eagles have debts.
However, Gunayer reports any decision about Vida moving on will depend on former Besiktas player Marcelo. The Super Lig side are looking to resign the Brazilian, who’s expected to leave Lyon during the window.
Aston Villa are currently sitting 18th place in the Premier League table and it’s likely they will be looking to strengthen their squad in January to maintain top flight status.
Vida’s contract with Besiktas will expire at the end of June 2022.
