Bordeaux defender Frederic Guilbert could be leaving the Ligue 1 club this summer, with just one year left on his existing deal.
The 21-year-old is reportedly reluctant to sign a new deal at Bordeaux, and is generating interest from clubs in England.
According to France Football, Aston Villa and Sunderland are interested in signing the French defender.
Guilbert played vital role for Bordeaux last season, as he made 30 league appearances, and it remains to be seen if he’d be willing to move to Aston Villa, who are now playing in the Championship.
However, a move to Sunderland might be tempting, if they decide to confirm their interest with an offer.
Guilbert is primarily a right-back, but can also play at centre-back. The player signed for Bordeaux on a free transfer a couple of years ago.
