Jordan Amavi’s transfer from Aston Villa to Sevilla may not be official yet, but the word in the Spanish media is that it’s pretty close.
Local outlet ABC De Sevilla has a story today bringing a few more details on the deal, saying it should cost the La Liga side over €9m.
It’s claimed that Amavi will be signing a long term contract at the club, which is most likely to be five seasons.
The outlet also managed to speak to Timothée Kolodziejczak, a former Sevilla player who was Amavi’s teammate at French side Nice.
They became great friends back then, and still keep in touch. That’s why Kolo was called for some advice before Amavi took the decision to leave Aston Villa and join Sevilla.
Speaking to ABC, the now Borussia Monchengladbach player said: “Jordan called me on Wednesday. He asked me about Sevilla, wanted to know if it was a proper club for him and how the institution was… I told him that Sevilla is a very big club, do not think about it and go straight there to play. I think he’s going there. He is excited, he knows that Sevilla are very important, a Champions League club.”
This morning, Spanish website Estadio Deportivo contacted sources from Aston Villa who said the club are “still negotiating” the player’s sale.
