Turkish newspaper Aksam report Aston Villa sent a scout to watch Dorukhan Tokoz in action when Besiktas hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday evening.
It’s reported Villa scouts were left very impressed with Tokoz’s performance, but he was unable to prevent his side losing 1-0 to Wolves.
The Premier League side are familiar with the Turkish market after they signed Trezeguet from Kasimpasa in the summer.
However, Tokoz suffered a serious injury during yesterday’s win over Alanyaspor and a January move to Aston Villa now looks unlikely. The 23 year old was taken off with a knee injury and he’s set to undergo surgery today.
Besiktas reporters say the former Eskisehirspor player is likely to be out until at least February, meaning he won’t play for more than four months.
This injury is likely to rule out a move for Dorukhan in the new year but Aksam report the Turkey international is very keen to continue his career in the Premier League.
Tokoz is under contract with Beşiktaş until June 2021.
