Aston Villa will send a senior representative to the game between Austria and Slovakia tonight, according to Vienna based journalist Eric Willemsen. With the transfer window just weeks away from opening new manager Steve Bruce will be hoping to bring in new recruits in New Year.

Willemsen has confirmed via Twitter Aston Villa will be present at the World Cup qualifier tonight, and they will be joined by a number of other clubs across Europe including Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta, Stuttgart and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Manchester United will also attend the game in Vienna, and the scout for the Premier League side will join Aston Villa’s new scout Ian Atkins, after he recently joined the club from Everton.

There have been no reports who Aston Villa will watching tonight, but there is a possibility they have an eye on somebody from Austria after claims that they attended their game on Saturday night when they took on the Republic of Ireland.

In recent years, the Austrian side has drastically improved following their disappointments when they hosted Euro 2008, and they now have a number of quality players in their set up.
