Fanatik report Trabzonspor are interested in signing Aston Villa’s Conor Hourihane.
The Turkish side are in the market to strengthen their midfield after loanee Badou Ndiaye returned to Stoke City and Jose Sosa moved to arch-rivals Fenerbahce.
Subsequently their new manager Eddie Newton wants to see a new central midfielder in his team as soon as possible, and Fanatik claim Trabzonspor have turned their attention to Hourihane.
The Irish midfielder has reportedly been offered to the Trabzon club via agents. It’s even reported that the 29 year old is keen to continue his career in Turkey after helping Aston Villa remain in the Premier League.
Turkish reports sometimes overstate the desire of footballers to move to the country.
The Irish midfielder, who previously had spells with Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Plymouth and Barnsley, made 27 appearances in the league for Dean Smith’s side last season, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
Hourihane has one year left on his contract and Villa may be tempted cash-in rather than risk losing him a free transfer next summer.
