Aston Villa are interested in Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to claims from Spain.

Outlet XCatalunya today writes that with Unai Emery aware that the player is struggling to get minutes at the La Liga side, the Villans are now keen on bringing him to the Premier League.

The story claims that Aston Villa are already ‘preparing an offfer’ to sign Ceballos, willing to spend as much as €18m on this transfer.

The idea is of a January transfer, as the English side are reportedly wiling to reinforce the squad for the second part of the season, when they shall have decisive games in the UEFA Conference League.

It’s said that even though Ceballos renewed his contract with Real Madrid last summer, his situation in the squad doesn’t guarantee he’s staying at the Santiago Bernabeu.

So Aston Villa are not only ‘convinced’ about trying for his signing, but they also want to bring his salary to €8m.

Featuring for Real Madrid this season, Ceballos only made two appearances, with a total of 49 minutes on the pitch, so it’s no surprise if he feels attracted by a new challenge.
