Barcelona have included Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán in their transfer target list, according to Sport.
The La Liga side are currently going through a difficult phase trying to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor for the second half of the season.
Despite this, the Catalan club have started planning for next season and the Aston Villa star is on their agenda.
The striker’s agent made a trip to Barcelona to hold talks with the Camp Nou side several weeks ago and the representative had a meeting with the Spanish club’s sporting director, Deco.
Sport claim the meeting confirms Durán’s name is on the Blaugrana’s table and that he’s excited to wear the Barca shirt in the future. The report points it out that it’s not clear if the Colombia international is the first-choice target for Barcelona.
The 21-year-old’s agent had a meeting with Deco, who hasn’t yet started any negotiations for the Villans frontman. Due to their economic conditions and other factors, Hansi Flick’s side won’t be able to make a final decision about the South American in the near future.
In October, Durán extended his deal until 2030, and Sport claim Aston Villa will need a significant sum of €60-70m to consider selling him.
The Colombian has scored 12 goals from 26 matches for Unai Emery’s side this season.
