According to Fotospor, Aston Villa will allow Besiktas target Mbwana Samatta to leave if they manage to sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic.
This week the Premier League side confirmed the arrival of Ollie Watkins from Brentford for a club-record fee, and it’s reported they are in the market for another striker.
Fotospor claim that if they manage to sign Edouard from Celtic, then Samatta could join the Turkish side on a loan deal.
After selling Burak Yilmaz to Lille earlier this summer, Besiktas are in the market for a forward and reports this week said Samatta is an option.
However, Fotospor say Samatta’s move will depend on Villa’s transfer business and whether they will be able to bring in another attacker before the window closes.
Samatta joined the west Midlands club from Genk in the winter transfer window and he scored two goals in all competitions. His contract at Villa Park will expire at the end of June 2024.
