Aston Villa striker Jhon Jáder Durán is set to miss out on Colombia’s upcoming games.
Journalist Pipe Sierra claims that due to fitness problems, the 19-year-old wasn’t included in the national team list.
It’s said that Durán was ‘the priority’ for manager Nestor Lorenzo, who recently called up the squad for the matches against Iraq and Germany.
The youngster, however, has a ‘muscular overload’ which left him out of the list.
According to Sierra, that’s the reason why Durán didn’t take part in Aston Villa’s final Premier League match of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion.
With the issue only being an overload, that doesn’t seem like a problem for the English side to be concerned about, as these are friendlies to be played in the next couple of weeks.
Despite still being young enough to play in the U-20 squad, Durán already has five appearances for Colombia’s first team, and scored a goal in their last match against Japan.
The attacker was signed by Aston Villa in a €16.6m deal from Chicago Fire in January, and made 12 appearances for the Premier League side so far.
